Ingredients
For the Chicken Meatballs
- 500 g ground chicken breast
- 1 small onion, finely grated and squeezed to remove excess liquid
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Creamy Mushroom Sauce
- 250 g fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, grated onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Mix well until fully combined.
Shape the mixture into medium-sized meatballs.
Heat a little oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs until lightly golden on the outside. They do not need to be fully cooked yet, as they will finish cooking in the sauce. Remove and set aside.
2. Make the Mushroom Sauce
In the same skillet, add butter and olive oil.
Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and begin to brown.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
Sprinkle in the flour and stir well. Gradually add the chicken broth while stirring to prevent lumps.
Add the heavy cream and simmer until the sauce becomes smooth and slightly thick.
3. Finish the Dish
Return the chicken meatballs to the skillet.
Cover and simmer over low heat for 10–15 minutes until the meatballs are fully cooked and the sauce becomes rich and creamy.
4. Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme and serve hot.
